A re-route joint survey was carried out by SSGCs IT, P&C and P&D Departments for the demarcation of Right of Way (RoW) and re-installation of damaged markers in Balochistan for laying down a Transmission Pipeline Network of approximately 64 kilometers from Zarghun South-1 to Quetta TBS. This is a totally satellite based re-route survey with the help of GPS Technology. Executives of IT, P&D and P&C Departments marked temporary symbols, KMP post markers and turning points regarding requirements of the project. This survey was done twice by a private company in 2004 and 2009 but now the SSGC management has decided that survey be conducted totally in-house by the IT Department. The method for this survey involving converting data from the Survey of Pakistan (SOP) system into GIS projection.
