Emergency Shutdown of CNG Stations on Friday, October 11, 2013

SSGC has announced an emergency shutdown for CNG stations in whole Sindh region on Friday 11 October 2013. The decision has been taken due to sudden short supply of about 30 mmcf gas from Zamzama Gas Field. Another gas field, Kunnar Passaki, which brings around 120 mmcf gas daily to SSGC’s network has also gone on shutdown for annual maintenance from Wednesday, 9th October 2013. This aggregate short supply of about 150 mmcf daily in SSGC network has resulted in depletion of line pack causing low pressure in the system.

Therefore, in compliance with the sector-wise priority order for gas load management, all CNG stations in Sindh would remain closed from 8 am on Friday 11th October 2013, till 8 am on Saturday 12th October 2013.

However, according to the revised schedule, issued by SSGC, there will be no gas holiday for CNG stations on Saturday, 12th October 2013, as announced earlier.

SSGC regrets the inconvenience which may be caused to CNG users during the above notified 24-hour shut down period.
