SSGC Customer Service

NEWSIn these times of apathy and listlessness in most public sector utility organizations, it is really encouraging to see that SSGC offers customer services of a level above and beyond the norm. I had the occasion to visit a ‘SSGC Customer Facilitation Centre’ in Karachi in connection with my gas bill and was really amazed to experience the warmth and efficiency of the staff there. For one, I was treated with due deference and not just as anybody in a crowd. Actually, there was no ‘crowd’ at the center but disciplined queues, with people moving to the counter in a well-ordered manner. When my turn came, the person on duty showed all the patience to listen to my problem concerning my gas bill. I produced the necessary previous bills to explain my point and was given a date to come back and inquire if the problem had been solved. The Facilitation Centre was immaculately clean and I couldn’t imagine for a few moments that I was standing at the premises of a public utility. This was my first visit to a SSGC Facilitation Centre and I had come with a lot of apprehension, since what I expected was a crowded and dinghy place where I would have to struggle to find a sympathetic ear. I take this opportunity to express my deep appreciation of the manner in which SSGC respects its customers and attends to their problems. I do hope that other utilities, including its sister company SNGPL, will learn from this.
