SSGC has remained laser focused in developing paradigm shifting projects meant to improve better gas supply and pressure as well as saving on UFG. Some major projects either already commisioned or in process are as under:
- Construction of 32 Km segment of the planned 30’ dia. x 116 Km pipeline Kotri to Karachi project has been completed in record time of 60 days against a plan of 6 months.
- 201-km of pipeline projects / schemes within the Quetta city have been completed within stipulated target dates for supplying gas at correct pressures to domestic and save on UFG.
- A 24’ dia. x 31 km pipeline is scheduled to be completed in June 2024 to solve the long pending pressure issues at SITE and HUB.
- Enhanced focus is placed upon the initiation of Karachi Distribution Master Plant entailing construction of five distribution main lines along with independent gas measurement of all distribution mains to optimize system pressure and separation of domestic customers from industrial network. Two pipelines have already been commisioned.
- Automation of 50 Karachi TBSs is nearing completion to enable precise and efficient pressure and gas flow management. 39 TBS sites are fully commissioned. Upon completion of this project, around 70% of gas supply to domestic consumers in Karachi would be remotely controlled for precise and automatic pressure management.
