As part of the anti-gas theft drive, Operation Grift, the Operations Wing of SSGC’s Security Services and Counter Gas Theft Operations Department conducted a joint raid the other day on a bakery in Sector 5-E, New Karachi. The bakery owner was found using gas directly through rubber pipe from SSGC’s distribution lines. Total connected load was estimated at 460 Cft/hr. FIR was subsequently lodged against bakery owner Fakhar Zaman.
Operations Wing also raided a pakwan center and a confectionary factory in Karachi’s central region and found the culprits involved in using gas directly from the Company’s main service line. SSGC has lodged two different FIRs against the accused owners. Total load of 240 cft/hour and 4 psig pressure and 2,225 cft/hour at 4 psig pressure were calculated against theft committed by the pakwan center and confectionary factory owners, respectively. Appropriate claims are also be raised.
