SSGC continued its relentless pursuit of gas theft miscreants by conducting raids in Karachi and Nawabshah, as part of its Operation Grift campaign. The Operations Wing of the Company’s Counter Gas Theft Operations (CGTO) Department conducted a joint raid along with Customer Relations and Distribution departments’ in Taiser Town, Karachi. The raiding party found 250 houses using gas without meters. All connections were disconnected and FIR was registered against Kaleemullah, the accused facilitator.
Meanwhile in Nawashah the Operations Wing accompanied with the local police, raided Shahbaz Medical Centre and found that gas was being used directly there through a clamp illegally installed to SSGC’s gas distribution line. A heavy-duty power generator of 18 KVA was being run to supply electricity to the medical centre. Total connected gas load was estimated at 180 cft/hr at 2 psig pressure. Illegal pipes were removed and distribution line was immediately repaired by the distribution team. FIR is being lodged and appropriate claim related to theft will soon be raised.
