SSGC’s Counter Gas Theft Operations team recently caught miscreants using gas directly for commercial purposes. The other day, Gas Utility Court, District West, Karachi convicted accused persons Shahjahan, Bakht Nawab, Rafeeq Mohammad and Haneef Khan after payment of quantum of losses and fines, following FIRs lodged against them. Shahjahan paid a quantum of loss of Rs. 721,900 to SSGC and fine of Rs. 10,000. FIR was lodged against him in SSGC Police Station (PS) for direct gas use through service line for commercial purpose of running a restaurant in Pak Colony area.
Gas Utility Court, District West Karachi also convicted Bakht Nawab and Rafeeq Muhammad after payment of quantum of loss of Rs. 190,200 to SSGC and fine of Rs. 10,000. FIR was lodged against them in SSGC PS for direct use of gas for running a restaurant in Manghopir Area. In addition, Gas Utility / Session Court, Central Karachi convicted Haneef Khan who paid a quantum of loss of Rs. 17,100 to SSGC and fine of Rs. 10,000, after FIR lodged against him for direct gas use for commercial purpose.
