In order to minimise/ reconcile line losses or UFG, SSGC developed a master plan to segregate Sales Meter Station (SMSs) of Surjani, Karachi Terminal (SSGC Gulshan) and Fauji Fertilizer. This segregation exercise is meant to improve gas pressure and volume for the industrial and domestic customers by making possible isolation of SITE Industrial Area possible. The said plan contains laying down a 16″ dia., 5-km pipeline from Surjani to Madinat-ul-Hikmat (Hamdard University).
Once commissioned, the line will help to increase sales revenue while at the same time will bring about a reduction in UFG losses through low pressure operation of network portions.
