Transmission Division – Recent Achievements

  • To meet growing gas load demands, installed new SMSs at Lucky Energy and Mastung, Quetta . SMSs Kot Diji and Thatta upgraded to meet gas load requirement.
  • Handled average volume of around 1,765 MMCFD in transmission network.
  • Internal cleaning of 18’ dia., 100-km Badin Gas Pipeline carried out by removing condensate from the pipeline.
  • Ruptures during flood emergency last year at Bibi Nani Bridge in QPL section were repaired on fast track to restore gas supply to Quetta and Karachi.
  • 42” dia. RLNG MPL protection near cultivated areas undertaken through casting of CC structure of 6 feet length each at 400 spots.
  • Modification carried out by replacement of 6”control valves with 8″ control valves carried out to meet Karachi’s gas requirement at SMSs in SSGC’s Karachi Terminal.
  • Two refurbished Gas Turbine Engines were replaced at HQ Shikarpur compressor Station after completing operational life cycle as per asset life extension regime.
  • Additional new compressor unit was commissioned at HQ Shikarpur to meet growing Balochistan demands.
  • Control system of three compressor units at HQ3 compressor station on IRBP were upgraded to supply uninterrupted gas to Karachi,.
  • Asset integrity plan was ensured to carry out coating of about 25 kms of T&D pipeline network.
  • Pipeline coating integrity surveys of about 1,682 kms carried out.
  • To enhance pipeline integrity, 66 new CP Stations were added/renewed in the T&D network to maintain threshold of CP current.
  • All gas entry (PODs) and outlet (SMS) points were connected with SCADA system for live monitoring of gas parameters.
