SSGC is working full throttle on the 30’ dia. x 116-km transmission pipeline from Kotri to Karachi for injecting 247 mmcfd gas to the system.
The old 16” dia. pipeline laid down 40 years ago did not enough have capacity to cater to extra volumes that was made available due to recent discoveries of new gas wells. Hence it became important to replace the old 16” dia. pipeline laid way back in 1955 with a new 30’ dia. line. The pipeline will ensure a smooth supply chain of gas in the province.
The first phase of the 30’ dia. x 32-km project from MVA Baran River to RS4 (near Jhampir) started in May 2023 and will be completed in a record time of around 2 months. The next 3 phases will soon follow.
Technical Services team has worked with all guns blazing to commission the project in time.
