JOB DETAILS:
Qualification & Experience:

MBA (Majors in Marketing would be preferred) with minimum 6 years of experience in a leadership role in media relations.
Or
Masters in Mass Communication with minimum 11 years of relevant experience. Candidate must possess good contacts in print and electronic media along with content development and PR management skills.

Responsibilities:
    1. Develop and maintain smooth and cordial business relations with important members of print and electronic media especially with energy and commerce reporters, with a view to avail their services to enhance the image of the company by ensuring immediate and wide coverage of important news, events and achievements of the company.
    2. Develop and maintain amicable business relations with other institutions such as APNS, PBA, PID, MoIB, and MoE.
    3. Stay up to date with changes in APNS / PID / PBA rules and regulations through regular communication with their officials and guide team when changes are announced.
    4. Oversee communications to the media, including preparing articles, press kits, press releases, and other content initiatives.
    5. Become a liaison between the media fraternity and Organization in order to ensure correct
    6. Information with proper facts and figures is presented to the media fraternity.
    7. Supervise and facilitate the management and execution of media relations outreach for special events, programs and major initiatives.
    8. Oversee the arrangement of media meets, dinner / lunch meets with media personnel and attend them on behalf of the organization.
    9. Write pitches, backgrounders, press releases, key messages, blog posts and articles portraying a positive image of the organization.
    10. Support framing and development of main message points for better position prior to media interviews.
    11. Prepare speeches, talk points and varied communications materials assisting company spokesperson.
    12. Oversee the securing of strategic media placements assisting corporate reputation and business goals.
    13. In case of any special event or any emergency within the company, play a leading role in dissipating timely and correct information to external stakeholders including public and customers.
    14. Ensure that a favorable image of the company is presented at important events and forums.
    15. Act as an internal consultant in providing advice and guidance to other SSGC departments on matters having a bearing on the public image of the company.
    16. Oversee translations of various documents as and when required.
    17. Supervise team for the same, ensuring that necessary guidelines are followed.
    18. Keep close liaison with the media monitoring agency, hired for tracking company / industry related news / advertisements.
    19. Prepare communication strategy for SSGC to ensure that it is in line with SSGC’s vision and mission / business strategy and submit to senior management for final approval.
    20. Stopping negative news from airing by using a proactive approach to ensure all stories present a balance viewpoint.
    21. Supervise the preparation and release of any response / rebuttals from the company’s side.
    22. Carry out any other task as assigned by GM, Corporate Communications and senior management.
