Qualification & Experience:
  • MBA or Masters in Supply Chain Management.
  • At least 9 years of working experience of Government/Semi Government/ Reputable Corporate Organizations. The main mandate of this position is to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of goods and services required for various projects, as well as managing the shipping and delivery process to project sites and other designated locations. Ensures the procurement process aligns with project goals and objectives. Compliance with relevant procurement regulations, including the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and regulations. The position is also responsible for overseeing the shipping and logistics process for procured goods. This involves coordinating with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and other service providers to arrange for efficient transportation and customs clearance. Responsibilities:
    • Lead and manage the procurement activities for projects, collaborating with project managers and stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
    • This includes identifying the necessary goods and services for each project.
    • Develop and implement procurement plans for projects, including sourcing strategies, bid evaluation criteria, and contract management frameworks.
    • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure the timely execution of procurement activities, such as vendor pre-qualification, bid solicitation, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract award.
    • Ensure compliance with procurement regulations, including the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) rules and regulations, throughout the project procurement process.
    • Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and quality delivery of goods and services required for projects, monitoring supplier performance, and addressing any issues or concerns.
    • Oversee the shipping and logistics process for procured goods, ensuring smooth and timely delivery to project sites and other designated locations.
    • Coordinate with shipping agents, freight forwarders, and other service providers to arrange for efficient transportation and customs clearance.
    • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including documentation requirements and customs procedures, to avoid any delays or complications.
    • Monitor shipping costs, negotiate favorable terms with logistics partners, and optimize transportation routes to minimize expenses while ensuring timely delivery.
    • Resolve any shipping-related issues, such as delays, damages, or discrepancies, and take appropriate actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions to project timelines.
    • Evaluate vendor performance and conduct regular performance reviews, addressing any issues or concerns.
    • This includes monitoring quality, delivery timeliness, responsiveness, and adherence to contractual obligations.
    • Continuously review and improve procurement processes and procedures related to projects and shipping to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization to streamline workflows, improve data management, and enhance the overall procurement process.
    • Monitor and control procurement costs, ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints and supporting cost-saving initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for cost optimization, such as supplier consolidation.
    • Identify and assess risks under their management/ownership.
    • Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
