JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to lead the Assets Maintenance & Projects Section by overseeing civil construction and maintenance projects from planning through completion. The role ensures timely, cost-effective, and high-quality project execution while upholding safety and regulatory standards. It provides technical guidance, manages teams and resources, and coordinates with consultants and contractors to deliver reliable and efficient infrastructure outcomes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Lead and manage a diverse team of professionals, including project managers, engineers, and construction staff.
2. Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate a Team.
3. Co-ordination with Consultants and Contractors for obtaining effective quality and quantity of projects.
4. To analyze the requirements and prepare corresponding BOQs / Cost estimates, commensurate to the project requirements.
5. Effective decision-making skills and the ability to navigate challenges.
6. Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of civil construction projects undertaken by AS Department or monitor those projects of eminence executed through relevant construction Departments.
7. Develop project schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
8. Technically evaluate the bids in accordance with the bid document
9. Ensure adherence to project timelines and milestones and standards of workmanship.
10. Monitor and control project costs to meet budgetary constraints and arrange for additional requirements.
11. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and to provide guidance and support to team members where needed.
12. Ensure effective communication within the team and with all stakeholders.
13. Ensure and maintain safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment
14. Ensure contract compliance and resolve any disputes that may arise during the project.
15. Implement risk management plans to safeguard project success
16. Familiarity with relevant MS Office tools and project management systems
17. To perform additional duties as and when assigned by the HoD.
