Engineering Graduate preferably in Civil / Mechanical/ Electrical/ Mechatronics/ HSE with at least 6 years of relevant experience.

 

PEC registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities:

    JOB SUMMARY

    The role of this position is to oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of HSE policies, procedures, and programs to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace. The position also provides strategic leadership and guidance to the team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and developing a culture of safety and sustainability.

     

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Develop and implement strategic HSE plans, goals, and objectives tailored to the unique challenges and risks associated with transmission and distribution gas pipelines, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements.
    2. Develop, review, and update HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines specific to gas pipeline operations, addressing hazards such as gas leaks, pipeline integrity, excavation safety, and emergency response protocols.
    3. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and hazard analyses for gas pipeline infrastructure, identifying potential risks to public safety, environmental protection, and pipeline integrity.
    4. Implement risk mitigation measures to prevent incidents and ensure the safe operation of gas pipelines.
    5. Oversee the investigation of incidents, leaks, and pipeline ruptures in gas pipeline systems, conducting thorough root cause analyses and implementing corrective and preventive actions to enhance pipeline safety and reliability.
    6. Develop and deliver specialized HSE training programs for personnel involved in gas pipeline operations, including pipeline operators, maintenance technicians, and emergency response teams, emphasizing the importance of gas pipeline safety and compliance with HSE protocols.
    7. Monitor and assess compliance with HSE regulations, industry standards, and company policies specific to gas pipeline operations, conducting regular inspections, audits, and reviews to identify areas for improvement and ensure regulatory compliance.
    8. Develop emergency response plans and procedures tailored to gas pipeline incidents, such as gas leaks, pipeline ruptures, and fire emergencies, ensuring prompt and effective response to mitigate risks to public safety and the environment.
    9. Oversee environmental management programs for gas pipeline projects, including erosion and sediment control, habitat protection, and spill prevention measures, to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    10. Promote employee health and well-being in gas pipeline operations through initiatives such as health screenings, wellness programs, and ergonomic assessments, aiming to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses among pipeline personnel.
    11. Stay informed of changes in HSE regulations, industry standards, and best practices specific to gas pipeline safety, ensuring organizational compliance and proactively addressing emerging HSE issues and trends in gas pipeline operations.
    12. Collaborate with internal stakeholders, regulatory authorities, and community stakeholders on HSE matters related to gas pipeline operations, fostering positive relationships and promoting a culture of shared responsibility for gas pipeline safety and environmental protection.
    13. Ensure accurate records, documentation, and reporting systems for HSE activities, incidents, and compliance efforts in gas pipeline operations, ensuring timely and transparent reporting to senior management and regulatory agencies.
    14. Evaluate the HSE performance of suppliers and contractors involved in gas pipeline projects, ensuring compliance with HSE requirements and standards, and developing partnerships with HSE-conscious vendors and service providers.
    15. Lead initiatives for continuous improvement in HSE processes, systems, and practices specific to gas pipeline operations, leveraging feedback, lessons learned, and best practices to enhance overall safety performance and culture in gas pipeline operations.
    16. Identify and assess risks under their management/ownership.
    17. Develop and implement risk response strategies for the risks under their management.
    18. Monitor risks and response strategies under their management.
    19. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of information provided for risk reporting.
    20. Undertake any other assignment as instructed by the immediate supervisor.
